Skellerup Roof Gardens

What's a Roof Garden?

Also known as a "green roof", a roof garden is a lawn and/or garden installed on the roof of a building - offering the occupants and surrounding environment a number of advantages such as:

  • Storm water control - reducing run-off rates by up to 500%
  • Air and water purification - plants turn Co2 in O2 and the soil filters water
  • Sound and temperature insulation
  • Heat reduction - plants cool the surrounding air
  • Aesthetics - naturalising urban areas or sympathising with country surroundings
  • Space saving - providing outdoor public spaces without displacing real estate.
