What is Viking Bituclad?
Viking Bituclad is a CodeMark Certified, BRANZ appraised, modified bitumen membrane system. It is a double layer torch-on system which is designed for the most challenging of roofing designs.
Each layer of its double-layer system is torched on; the heat of which maximises the seal to the most intricate and vulnerable areas for leaks such as roof penetrations, internal corners and gutter junctions.
CodeMark NZ Certified
Product certification (CodeMark) is a voluntary scheme that provides an easily-understood and robust way to show that a building product or system meets the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code.
A CodeMark certified product or construction method must be accepted by any building consent authority as complying with the Building Code, as long as it is used as specified.
At Viking Roofspec our low-slope waterproofing membranes, Viking Enviroclad and Viking Bituclad, have CodeMark Certification, providing the most assured pathway to compliance.

Double Layer Torch-On System
Viking Bituclad includes a Base sheet and a Mineral chip-cap sheet.
The 3mm "base" sheet (an APP asphalt based membrane) followed by an attractive 4mm mineral-chip "cap" sheet available in black and grey, make up the double-layer system which also protects the roof from harsh UV, ozone, rot and puncturing.
Viking Bituclad is applied by controlled flame which allows the bitumen to bleed into tight corners to seal intricate and vulnerable areas for leaks such as roof penetrations, internal corners and gutter junctions. It creates a watertight finish to protect a home or building from the elements.
Viking Bituclad can only be installed by a Viking Approved Applicator to ensure a professional, watertight finish.Read More
