What is Viking GM Mercury FC?
Viking GM Mercury FC is a below ground waterproofing system that protects a below ground structure from water ingress.
It is a torch-on system that consists of a polyester and fibreglass modified bitumen membrane. It can be used for vertical and horizontal waterproofing applications, up to 10m below the ground level, such as floor slabs; behind masonry walls and on substrates of insitu or pre-cast concrete.
Viking GM Mercury FC is an S.B.S waterproofing membrane, which is a rubberised system creating excellent cold flexibility, down to -20°C degrees. It won't split or crack!
High puncture resistance
Viking GM Mercury FC comprises of 4mm thick polyester and fibreglass modified bitumen membrane which is torch-applied to a compatibly primed surface.
As it is 4mm thick it has high puncture resistance which is important to ensure the membrane is not damaged during construction.
Resists hydrostatic pressure
When installing waterproofing membrane below the ground it will be exposed to hydrostatic pressure. Viking GM Mercury FC is resistant to hydrostatic pressure, ensuring a watertight finish.
Mercury FC is also resistant to most chemicals.

Cold Flexibility and Elasticity
Viking GM Mercury FC is of the S.B.S variety, a rubberised system creating excellent cold flexibility, down to -20°C so it won't split or crack! The inherent reinforcement in the sheet maximises the tensile strength necessary to deal with latitudinal movement of a substrate.

Quality Assurance
To ensure that our product meets New Zealand conditions, our Viking GM Mercury FC has been BRANZ Appraised (No. 864) as a DPM for use under floor slabs; behind masonry walls and on substrates of insitu or pre-cast concrete.
Installation
Only Viking Roofspec’s Approved Applicators have access to its materials for installation. These standards are vitally important when it comes to below-ground waterproofing as it is imperative that workmanship is exemplary, as are no second chances with waterproofing the sub-structure of a building once the back-filling is complete.
