Viking Enviroclad offers absolute watertight integrity for low slope roofs. It is a TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) waterproofing membrane which possesses all the necessary attributes of a world-class system from waterproofing, aesthetic and environmental perspectives.
We offer 3 Viking Enviroclad solutions - Enviroclad, Enviroclad FBS and Enviroclad APEEL. Check out the products below.
Enviroclad - Waterproofing Membrane
Viking Enviroclad has been a proven performer. It has been tried and tested both internationally and locally, having been installed on over 5,500 buildings and homes across New Zealand.
In fact it has been installed on the likes of Fonterra, Courier Post and the Ministry of Justice buildings to name a few.
It can be installed as a system for low slope roofs, gutters and pond-liners.
CodeMark NZ Certified
CodeMark is the highest level of product certification available for a building material. It demonstrates that the product meets the highest levels of quality assurance and it guarantees compliance with the Building Code when specified within the parameters of the CodeMark Certification.
Viking Enviroclad has CodeMark Certification, providing the simplest pathway to compliance.

Proprietary Weldable Accessories
Viking Enviroclad is a roof 'system'. It is not complete without its proprietary weldable accessories. Does your roof have an air conditioning unit, tricky corners or pipes? Sometimes these are a challenge as you need to create a watertight finish surrounding roof penetrations or in corners.
Viking Enviroclad accessories, which range from weldable internal and external corners to pourable pockets, will create a watertight finish, forming a vital part of our Viking Enviroclad 'system'.

Where can it be installed?
Viking Enviroclad can be installed as a system for low slope roofs, gutters and pond-liners.
To ensure a professional, watertight finish Enviroclad can only be installed by a Viking Approved Applicator.
Reduced seams - with wider and longer rolls, there are less seams on the finished roof
Strong seams - the seams are heat welded to create a vulcanised, watertight finish
High puncture resistance - helps protects the building
Elongation - forgives building movement
UV resistance - withstands New Zealand’s harsh sunshine
High solar reflectivity - Viking Enviroclad comes in grey and white. Both offer high solar reflectivity which can result in energy savings. In fact, the white Enviroclad offers 92% solar reflectivity which will reduce the load on your air conditioning units!
Aesthetic finish - it looks like it has been poured on. This was a very important factor in selecting Enviroclad for some Auckland Apartment owners, as a number of occupants could see the roof from their windows.
Mechanical Fastening with RhinoBond
In line with the construction industry’s continuous evolution, there are a growing number of substrate options onto which membranes are installed. A common question is whether Enviroclad can be laid over substrates other than plywood, concrete or rigid insulation. The main issue is adhesion. With the RhinoBond method of fixing, you can be certain that the strongest possible adhesion will be achieved.
RhinoBond is an induction fastening technology, which is an alternative method of mechanically-fastening Enviroclad membrane to a wide range of substrates. The difference from other types of mechanical fastening is that it doesn’t involve penetrating the membrane.
We stand behind our product and Viking Enviroclad products are covered by a robust 20 year Product Warranty.
It is also eligible to be a part of a Viking Full System Warranty, which includes both installation and product, covered in one process.Read More
Ease of Approvals
Viking Enviroclad and Enviroclad APeel are BRANZ appraised.
What does this mean?
Well, it has been independently tested in New Zealand, by BRANZ, to ensure it can handle New Zealand's harsh conditions and complies with the New Zealand Building Code.
The Enviroclad products meets the AS/NZS 4020 testing of products for use in contact with drinking water standard. Enviroclad complies with the New Zealand Building Code's (G12) potability clause.
Enviroclad FBS - Fleeceback Membrane
The ultimate re-roofing solution
Viking Enviroclad FBS is one of the best re-roofing solutions to install over old bitumen or rough substrates such as concrete and tongue and groove, to create a watertight roof finish.
It features all the benefit of Viking Enviroclad which are above.................but it offers afew more!
What is Viking Enviroclad FBS?
It is a fleece-backed roofing membrane that consists of the following materials:
- 1.4 mm layer polyester fleece-backing
- 1.14mm of Enviroclad TPO roofing membrane
The polyester fleece-backing is factory laminated to the Viking Enviroclad waterproofing roofing membrane. When installed the fleece-back bonds with the substrate, transforming an ugly roof surface into an aesthetically gratifying roof.
High impact and UV resistant
The reinforced thermoplastic with the added fleece renders a 33% greater puncture resistance than most high puncture resistant membranes.
The Enviroclad FBS membrane, in grey or white, offers solar reflectivity and is able to withstand New Zealands harsh sunshine conditions.
Hassle free re-roofing solution
Overlaying over an existing substrate negates any costs associated with stripping the current roofing surface; no costly reconstruction or reconditioning of the existing roof and no redesigning costs, as the new roof loading is limited.
Overlaying also avoids the hassle of exposing the interior of the building to the changing weather conditions as the roof is replaced.
Reduction in waste
As the Viking Enviroclad FBS re-roofing solution is overlaid over the existing roof's surface, there is no need to dump the old roof - thus reducing wastage costs and avoiding filling the local land-fill with inorganic waste.
Enviroclad APEEL - Protective Layer
What is Viking Enviroclad APEEL?
Viking Enviroclad APEEL is normal Enviroclad, coated with a durable protective film that is applied to the surface of the membrane at the time of manufacture.
Durable and easy to remove, APEEL protective film helps save time, labour and improves aesthetics as well as long-term reflectivity (which increases energy efficiency and helps to reduce cooling costs).
Viking Enviroclad APEEL is available in both 1.14mm and 1.52mm thicknesses; 3.05m wide and in grey in colour (white is available on indent).
Where can it be installed?
Viking Enviroclad APEEL is ideal for re-roofing and new construction projects. It can be installed as a system for low slope roofs and gutters.
To ensure a professional, watertight finish Viking Enviroclad APEEL can only be installed by a Viking Approved Applicator.
Viking Enviroclad APEEL protective film will stay in place until it is ready to be taken off, at which time the strips are easily removed by a single person. Ideal adhesion levels allow the film to stay in place for months, resisting the effects of heat, UV exposure, rain and wind.
Once the film is removed, no residue remains on the membrane, providing the building owner with a clean, white, reflective roof that will continue to resist dirt pick-up long after installation.
Time and Labour Savings
It is becoming common practice for building owners to request that their new membrane roof be cleaned before they pay for it.
But with Viking Enviroclad APEEL, there is no need to clean or power wash the roof after installation; simply remove the film, and the roof is ready for final inspection.
