Warm timber patterns feature in viking's new Dec-K-ing range

Introducing two new Viking Roofspec Dec-K-ing patterns: Prairie Barn and Country Cottage — each providing a sophisticated yet rustic style for outdoor living areas, with their warm timber patterns.

Boasting the same features that come with all of Viking’s Dec-K-ing membranes, Prairie Barn and Country Cottage are stylish and 100% impermeable while offering the timber look without the need for maintenance. Prairie Barn, inspired by a building from a 19th-century farm, features darker, more grey tones, while Country Cottage inspires warmer features by utilising soft browns and orange tones.

Viking Dec-K-ing systems consist of a weldable thermo-plastic sheet membrane engineered for outdoor use. It is adhered to the substrate, creating a 100% waterproof finish that can be walked on. Its surface is embossed for greater traction in wet conditions. It is widely used on sundecks, balconies, walkways, patios and flat roofs used as rooftop living areas. Dec-K-ing is manufactured with salt, mildew and UV inhibitors to ensure durability in any climate.

Considerations for selecting a Dec-K-ing pattern:

  • To bring attention to a patio or deck space, use a bold pattern that contrasts with the exterior of the building
  • To bring attention to the surrounding view, use a softer pattern that matches or complements the exterior of the building
  • To make a small space feel larger, choose a simple pattern
  • Lighter patterns will hold their colour for years to come. With Country Cottage and Prairie Barn added to the range, Viking’s Dec-K-ing range now boasts a total of seven colours, all made to last and complement personal aesthetics and style.

Unlike a flat roof, a deck surface is seen every day, so it’s even more vital that the installation of Viking’s Dec-K-ing membrane is performed to the highest level of craftsmanship. Accordingly, Dec-K-ing is only installed by experienced Licensed Applicators who have been through Viking’s stringent three-staged licensing programme. It’s also a BRANZ appraised waterproofing system (appraisal no.411).
