College - North Shore
Challenge
A prestigious Auckland College was building a new music block. Seeking to protect their new buildings which had a combined area of 3,000m2 and included an auditorium, the College was looking for a roofing solution that provided a 100% waterproof finish.
Solution
A prominent architectural company designed the building and decided they wanted to stick with what they knew when it came to roofing membranes; a double-layer torch on system. Having worked with Viking Bituclad (now called Viking GM Gemini APP) and the robust product warranty, which is why it was chosen for this job.
The level of detail and protection provided by the Bituclad system meant that the College was receiving protection on a number of fronts, meaning the waterproofing ability of the Bituclad system would not be compromised.
Result
The College received a tastefully installed torch-on waterproofing job. The Viking General Membrane system is covered by a 20 year product warranty, so that in the unlikely event of a problem with the product, Viking Roofspec will be there to make it right.
Viking Bituclad has now been replaced with Viking GM Gemini APP, this membrane is part of a new range of torch-on waterproofing systems offered by Viking.

CodeMark is a New Zealand and Australian certification scheme which provides a process for a construction product to be assessed against, to demonstrate its compliance with the requirements of the Building Code. CodeMark is the highest level of product certification.
